Our Story
WorkFour is the only nonprofit dedicated to advancing the 4-day workweek in the United States. We were created in 2019 in partnership with the 4 Day Week Global Foundation. Our first campaign, with support from researchers at Boston College and Cambridge University, sought to recruit employers for the first organized U.S. pilot. The pilot contributed to a growing body of research demonstrating the 4-day workweek is a win-win-win policy with benefits for employers, workers, and society.
Since then, we’ve built a multi-pronged approach to win the 4-day workweek for all families in the United States through our three program areas: workplace engagement, politics and policy, and narrative change. We are confident that our approach will ultimately help build a world where we work to live, rather than live to work.
